And the former 2nd-round draft pick has now notched a nifty 2.05 ERA over his last 5 starts for Nashville. After appearing for Stockton on Tuesday, RHP Liam Hendriks tossed 1 scoreless inning of relief in his first rehab appearance for the Sounds, and RHP Ryan Doolittle got the final six outs to complete the 5-hit shutout. Center fielder Jaycob Brugman had a big night at the plate, belting his 3rd home run for the Sounds while also collecting a pair of doubles and driving in 3 runs. Catcher Bruce Maxwell and shortstop Chad Pinder both homered, doubled and drove in a pair to help Nashville maintain its 5-game lead in the Pacific Coast League American Southern division over rival Round Rock. In other news, Nashville’s Zach Neal and Max Muncy were both recalled by the A’s on Friday, while Oakland starter Jesse Hahn was optioned back to the Sounds. And Beloit starter James Naile was reassigned to Nashville to make Saturday’s start for Daniel Mengden, who is expected to make his major league debut for the A’s on Saturday.
