RHP Angel Duno delivered another impressive start for the Snappers to help his team salvage a split of Wednesday’s doubleheader in Beloit. The 22-year-old Venezuelan allowed 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 6 over 6 shutout innings to earn his 3rd win on Wednesday. Duno has now allowed just 7 earned runs over 7 appearances while walking just 4 and striking out 32 in 35 innings of work. RHP Cody Kurz tossed a scoreless 7th to complete the 7-inning shutout. Designated hitter Jesus Lopez tripled with two outs in the 2nd to clear the bases and give Beloit an early 3-run lead, and first baseman Chris Iriart slugged his 6th home run for the Snappers.

Thrid baseman Renato Nunez slugged his 6th home run in the 6th inning on Wednesday to tie him for the team lead with Max Muncy. He also singled in the game, while first baseman Rangel Ravelo singled and doubled in the Sounds’ other run in the 2nd. Starter Dillon Overton allowed 4 runs over 6 innings of work to suffer his 4th loss for the Sounds. In other news, Nashville catcher Bruce Maxwell was placed on the disabled list, while LHP Daniel Coulombe was optioned back to the Sounds, and pitchers Eric Surkamp and Zach Neal were both promoted to Oakland on Wednesday.

After getting off to a rough start this season, RHP Brett Graves turned in his third straight solid appearance for Stockton, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 5 innings of work on Wednesday. Graves left the game with a 2-run lead, but RHP Joey Wagman surrendered 3 runs in 2 innings of relief. LHP Cody Stull pitched a perfect 8th to pick up the win, while RHP Carlos Navas got the final three outs in the 9th to post his 1st save for the Ports. Left fielder B.J. Boyd went 4 for 4 with a walk and drove in a pair, while center fielder James Harris collected 3 hits, and catcher Argenis Raga had 2 hits, including a 2-run single to drive in the tying and winning runs in the top of the 9th for Stockton.
