First baseman Rangel Ravelo busted out of a 1 for 21 slump in a big way to help lead the Sounds to victory on Tuesday night. Ravelo ripped a 2-run homer to knock in the go-ahead run for Nashville in the 4th inning, doubled in another run in the 6th, and singled but was left stranded in the 8th. Third baseman Max Muncy led off the 4th inning with his 6th home run to put the Sounds on the board, while right fielder Matt Olson doubled home a pair of runs to tie the game later in the same inning. RHP Henderson Alvarez, making what’s expected to be his second to last rehab start, allowed 3 runs on 4 hits while walking 1 and striking out 3 over 4 innings of work. He threw a total of 79 pitches, 50 for strikes and 29 for balls. RHP Aaron Kurcz, who was promoted to Nashville earlier in the day from Midland, picked up the win despite giving up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief, while RHP Tucker Healy tossed a scoreless 9th for his 1st save. In addition to Kurcz, catcher Bryan Anderson also rejoined to Sounds, while RHP J.B. Wendelken was optioned back to Nashville from Oakland, and the A’s added utility man Tyler Ladendorf and relievers Andrew Triggs and Daniel Coulombe. Sounds starter Eric Surkamp is expected to officially rejoin the A’s roster on Wednesday.

After throwing 6 hitless frames in his last outing, RHP Raul Alcantara turned in another solid start for the RockHounds on Tuesday, allowing just 2 unearned runs – with the help of a Matt Chapman throwing error – while striking out 5 in 5 innings of work to earn his 3rd win for Midland. RHP Ryan Gorton tossed 1 scoreless inning of relief in his RockHounds debut, while RHP Andres Avila struck out 4 in 2 perfect frames, and RHP Jake Sanchez notched his 1st save despite surrendering a run in the 9th. Center fielder Jaycob Brugman reached base 4 times, on a pair of singles, a walk and a double, and drove in a run, while designated hitter Viosergy Rosa collected 3 hits. Second baseman Franklin Barreto had 2 hits, drove in a pair and stole a base, and shortstop Yairo Munoz slugged his third home run in the last two days for the RockHounds.

First Baseman Sandber Pimentel

First baseman Sandber Pimentel belted a 2-run homer in the top of the 2nd inning to give Stockton a lead it would never surrender on Tuesday. Pimentel also singled and scored in the 7th, while third baseman Jose Brizuela singled, doubled and drove in 3, and designated hitter Seth Brown singled, tripled and drove in a pair. Starter Daniel Gossett allowed just 1 run in 4 2/3 innings and exited after throwing 87 pitches, while RHP Kyle Finnegan pitched 1 1/3 perfect innings in relief to pick up the win for the Ports.
