RHP Zach Neal turned in his best start of the season, allowing just 5 hits over 7 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd win as the Sounds shut out the Express on Sunday. LHP Daniel Coulombe got the final two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning, and RHP Andrew Triggs pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his 1st save for Nashville. Left fielder Andrew Lambo singled in the Sounds’ first 2 runs in the 4th and doubled and scored in the 9th, while catcher Bruce Maxwell doubled in Lambo, and third baseman Max Muncy had a pair of hits to raise his team-best batting average to .293. With Sounds starters Jesse Hahn and Sean Manaea heading to Oakland, RockHounds RHP Daniel Mengden was reassigned to Nashville. And Mengden is expected to make his Triple-A debut on Monday for the Sounds.

Third Baseman Ryon Healy

The RockHounds snapped their 6-game winning streak by falling to the Missions 5-2 on Sunday. And Franklin Barreto, making his second straight start at second base, went 0 for 4 to snap his 8-game hitting streak as well. Third baseman Ryon Healy singled and doubled, while Matt Chapman, making his first professional start at shortstop, walked, doubled and scored a run. First baseman Viosergy Rosa also doubled and walked, and designated hitter J.P. Sportman walked and singled in a run for the RockHounds. RHP Corey Walter made his first professional start in place of the recently-promoted Daniel Mengden on Sunday and ended up allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 4 innings of work, while RHP Andres Avila gave up 3 runs in 2 innings of relief to take the loss. Meanwhile, RHP Kris Hall was activated from the disabled list to take Mengden’s place on the RockHounds roster.

With a man on and the Ports down by a run in the bottom of the 8th inning, right fielder Tyler Marincov smacked a 2-run homer to drive in the tying and winning runs for Stockton on Sunday. Marincov also singled twice, drew a walk and stole a base for the Ports. Starter Heath Fillmyer was solid for Stockton, allowing just 1 run while striking out 7 over 6 innings of work, but he left with the game a 1-1 tie. LHP Matt Stalcup picked up the win despite giving up the go-ahead run in the top of the 8th, and RHP Lou Trivino got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 1st save for Stockton.

RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in his best start of the season, allowing just 1 baserunner – on a 2nd-inning single – while striking out 6 over 5 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win as the Snappers shut out the Loons in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. LHP Jared Lyons contributed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up his 2nd save, and right fielder Steven Pallares singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Snappers.

RHP Boomer Biegalski was solid again for the Snappers, allowing just 1 run while walking none and striking out 6 over 6 innings of work to earn his 3rd win in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader. RHP Cody Kurz got the final three outs for his 3rd save, and center fielder Justin Higley homered, doubled and scored twice for the Snappers.
