RHP Chris Jensen turned in his fifth straight strong start for the RockHounds, but he still walked away with the loss on Friday. Jensen allowed 2 unearned runs, with the help of errors by third baseman Renato Nunez and shortstop Wade Kirkland, on just 1 hit while walking 2 and striking out 4. And Jensen has now allowed just 1 earned run in 14 innings over his last 2 starts for the Hounds. Midland managed just 1 run on 6 hits on Friday. Nunez and Kirkland both doubled and first baseman Anthony Aliotti had a pair of hits in the loss.

RHP Zach Neal had his third straight rough start for the Sounds on Friday, allowing 5 runs on 13 hits over 6 innings of work to take his 10th loss, while LHP Jim Fuller gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in 1 inning of relief, and RHP Aaron Kurcz tossed 1 scoreless inning for Nashville. Center fielder Craig Gentry slugged a solo shot to put the Sounds on the board in the 1st inning, while left fielder Ryan Roberts ripped a 2-run homer to bring the Sounds within 2 runs in the 7th, but that was all the scoring the Sounds would do on Friday. Meanwhile, the A’s recalled LHP Sean Nolin from Nashville.

Outfielder Tyler Marincov smacked his 14th home run, a 2-run shot, in the bottom of the 7th to bring Stockton with 2 runs, but the Ports’ comeback wouldn’t go any farther than that on Friday. Designated hitter Jacob Nottingham doubled in a run in the 1st to put Stockton on the board, while third baseman Matt Chapman drove in another run in the inning with a sacrifice fly, and second baseman Branden Cogswell had a pair of hits for the Ports. Starter Matt Stalcup allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 5 innings of work to suffer his 6th loss for Stockton.

RHP Daniel Gossett had his third straight solid start for the Snappers, allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits while walking 1 and striking out 5 over 5 innings of work, but he still ended up suffering his 13th loss on Friday. Designated hitter Argenis Raga singled, doubled and drove in the Snappers’ only run, while shortstop Mikey White singled, doubled and scored in the loss.

Third baseman Ryan Howell belted a 2-run homer to tie the game in the bottom of the 4th for the Lake Monsters on Friday, while first baseman Chris Iriart doubled in a run, and outfielder Skye Bolt singled in a run for Vermont. Starter Angel Duno allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, and struck out 9 over 5 innings of work, while RHP Cody Kurz gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief to take the loss for the Lake Monsters.
