Last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Daniel Gossett, had his second straight scoreless outing for the Snappers on Sunday. Gossett scattered just 3 hits over 6 shutout innings to earn his 5th win, and the 22-year-old has now tossed 13 scoreless innings over his last two starts. LHP Cody Stull got the final two outs in the 9th to notch his 1st save. Third baseman Jose Brizuela collected 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and drove in 2 runs, while first baseman Max Kuhn singled, doubled and scored a run, and catcher Argenis Raga and outfielder Joe Bennie each drove in a pair for the Snappers.

In the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader, outfielder Jason Pridie slugged a pair of home runs for the Sounds, his 19th and 20th, to give him a total of 20 homers and 20 stolen bases on the season. Second baseman Joey Wendle singled, doubled and drove in a run, but it wasn’t enough for Nashville to prevail on Sunday. Starter Zach Neal had a shaky outing for the Sounds, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, over 6 2/3 innings of work and left with the game tied, but RHP Ryan Dull gave up a rare run in the bottom of the 8th to suffer his 1st loss for Nashville.

19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Jesus Zambrano was called up from the Arizona League to make the start for the Sounds in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader. Zambrano allowed 2 runs over 4 innings of work and left the game with a 1-run lead, while RHP Dan Otero tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief to pick up his 2nd win. First baseman Rangel Ravelo drove in 3 runs, while third baseman Max Muncy doubled in a pair. Catcher Carson Blair homered, and outfielder Jason Pridie walked, doubled in a run and scored twice for the Sounds. And with Zambrano’s addition to the roster, RHP Tanner Peters was reassigned to the AZL A’s.

RHP Chris Jensen turned in a strong start for the RockHounds on Sunday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 5 over 7 innings of work to earn his 9th win, while RHP Brendan McCurry tossed a scoreless 9th to notch his 5th save. First baseman Matt Olson singled, doubled, walked and scored a run, while left fielder Jaycob Brugman had 2 hits and drove in a run, and right fielder Josh Whitaker drove in a pair for the Hounds.

With Stockton up by a run in the bottom of the 4th, designated hitter Michael Soto slugged a grand slam to give the Ports what would prove to be an insurmountable 5-run lead on Sunday. Shortstop Yairo Munoz singled, doubled, homered and drove in 2, while right fielder Tyler Marincov reached base 4 times, on a walk, a double and 2 singles and drove in a pair for the Ports. RHP Casey Meisner turned in his third straight solid start on Sunday, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits while walking none and striking out 5 over 5 innings of work to earn his 2nd win for Stockton.

Starter Angel Duno had a rough start for Vermont on Sunday, allowing 8 runs in 5 innings of work to take his 3rd loss for the Lake Monsters. First baseman Chris Iriart had a pair of hits and drove in 3 runs, while outfielder Seth Brown had 3 hits, including a double, and scored twice in the loss.
