Third baseman Ryon Healy had his third 5-hit game this season for the RockHounds, going 5 for 7 with a double while also driving in a run in the 14th inning on Friday. Healy has gone 9 for 17 over his last 3 games and is now batting .303 in 111 games for Midland this season. With a man on and the game tied in the top of the 14th, catcher Beau Taylor homered for the second time in as many days, this time off first baseman Lars Anderson who was pressed into service for Tulsa, and Healy then followed up with an RBI single later in the inning. Starter Dillon Overton was solid, scattering 3 hits while walking none and striking out 4 over 5 shutout innings and left the game with a 1-run lead. RHP Jonathan Joseph allowed the tying run in the 7th, while RHP Andres Avila threw 3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win for the RockHounds.

With two outs, a man on and the game tied in the bottom of the 5th on Friday, outfielder Jason Pridie slugged a 2-run homer to provide the winning run for Nashville. Pridie also drove in the tying run for the Sounds in the 3rd and walked, stole a base and came around to score in the 7th. Second baseman Joey Wendle had 3 hits, including a double, and scored twice, while first baseman Max Muncy singled, doubled and drove in a pair. Starter Sean Nolin allowed 1 run over 3 innings of work, while RHP Arnold Leon threw 3 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win for the Sounds. Meanwhile, infielder Tyler Ladendorf’s rehab assignment came to an end and he was optioned to Nashville.

Starter Daniel Mengden, acquired from Houston in the Scott Kazmir trade, turned in a strong start for Stockton, allowing 3 runs, just 2 earned, while notching a career-high 9 strikeouts over 6 innings of work to earn his 5th win on Friday. RHP Corey Walter pitched a perfect 9th to post his 5th save for the Ports. Shortstop Yairo Munoz singled in Stockton’s first run in the top of the 1st and then doubled in the go-ahead run in the 7th, while outfielders Brett Vertigan and Tyler Marincov had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.

RHP Brett Graves had a solid start for the Snappers, allowing 2 runs while striking out 8 over 5 innings of work to earn his 12th win on Friday. Left fielder Joe Bennie reached base 4 times, on a double, 2 singles and a walk, while driving in 3 runs, and right fielder Shawn Duinkerk had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair for the Snappers.

Starter Evan Manarino had a rough outing for Vermont on Friday, allowing 6 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks in just 1 2/3 innings of work to take his 2nd loss for the Lake Monsters. LHP Derek Beasley gave up another 4 runs, 3 earned, in 2 1/3 innings, but RHP Heath Bowers was solid, allowing just 1 unearned run while striking out 3 in 3 innings of relief for Vermont. The Lake Monsters scored 1 run on just 3 hits on Friday. Second baseman Trace Loehr doubled but was left stranded, while outfielder Brett Siddall singled in Vermont’s only run, and third baseman Ryan Howell singled and scored in the loss.
