The A’s 14th-round draft pick this year, RHP Boomer Biegalski, started things off on Monday by allowing 1 run in 2 innings of work for the AZL A’s. 18-year-old Venezuelan RHP Jesus Zambrano followed up with a strong performance, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 3 over 3 shutout innings to earn his 1st win on the season. RHP Brendan Butler gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th to make it a 1-run game, but RHP Yordy Alejo came on to get the final out and pick up his 2nd save for the A’s. First baseman Miguel Guzman tripled and drove in 2 runs, while catcher Robert Mullen and third baseman Miguel Mercedes each doubled in a run, and second baseman Tyler Ladendorf went 1 for 2 with a walk and scored twice in his second rehab game with the AZL A’s.
