RHP Parker Frazier, who was acquired from the Arizona organization earlier in the month, turned in his third straight quality start on Tuesday, allowing just 1 unearned run while striking out 5 over 6 innings of work to earn his 3rd win for Midland. And Frazier has now failed to allow an earned run in 20 2/3 innings over his last 3 starts for the RockHounds. Catcher Nick Rickles singled and slugged a 2-run homer, while first baseman Rangel Ravelo singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and outfielder Chad Oberacker collected 2 hits and 2 walks, stole 2 bases and scored 3 times in the win. Meanwhile, Midland’s saves leader, RHP Ryan Dull, was promoted to Nashville and Stockton’s saves leader, RHP Brendan McCurry, was reassigned to the RockHounds.

Nashville was shut out on just 4 hits on Tuesday. Outfielder Dayan Viciedo walked and doubled for the Sounds’ only extra-base hit in the loss. And a throwing error by shortstop Andy Parrino followed by a fielding error by second baseman Joey Wendle opened the door to a big 7-run 2nd inning for Iowa that helped to do in the Sounds on Tuesday. Starter Zach Neal was charged with 8 runs, just 1 earned, over 7 innings of work to take his 4th loss, while RHP Ryan Dull, who just joined the roster from the RockHounds, allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief in his Triple-A debut. Dull replaced RHP R.J. Alvarez, who was recalled by Oakland. Infielder Max Muncy also rejoined the A’s and RHP Aaron Brooks, who was acquired from Kansas City in the Ben Zobrist trade, was assigned to the Sounds.

Designated hitter Coco Crisp singled, walked and hit a 2-run homer and a solo shot in his second rehab appearance for the Ports on Tuesday. Shortstop Yairo Munoz singled and homered in his second game for Stockton, while center fielder Brett Vertigan collected 3 hits and stole a base, and right fielder Tyler Marincov doubled in a pair of runs for the Ports. Starter Chris Lamb allowed just 1 run over 5 innings of work, while switch-pitcher Pat Venditte gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief in his third rehab appearance. A passed ball by catcher Jason Nottingham with two outs in the 9th opened the door to 3 unearned runs, all charged to RHP Corey Walter, which tied the game, and RHP Joel Seddon then gave up the winning run in the top of the 10th to take the loss for Stockton. Meanwhile, the team lost the California League saves leader, RHP Brendan McCurry, when he was reassigned to the RockHounds.

Starter Junior Mendez allowed 6 runs over 4 2/3 innings to take his 8th loss for the Snappers on Tuesday. Designated hitter Max Kuhn had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, while outfielder James Harris singled, doubled, walked and scored a run. First baseman Sandber Pimentel singled in the Snappers’ first run in the 1st inning and also worked 3 walks, and this year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, shortstop Mikey White, went 1 for 4 in his debut for Beloit. Vermont third baseman Gabriel Santana was also reassigned to the Snappers on Tuesday.

With the bases loaded, one out and his team up by just a run in the top of the 5th inning, right fielder Seth Brown slugged a grand slam to give the Lake Monsters a 5-run lead. Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 1 run over 3 innings of work, while LHP Kevin Ferreras tossed 4 scoreless innings in relief, but LHP Jared Lyons was charged with 5 runs in the 8th, and RHP James Naile surrendered the tying run in the bottom of the 9th to send the game to extra innings. Designated hitter Brett Siddall, who’d collected a pair of singles earlier in the game, then doubled in a pair of runs in the top of the 10th to help Naile pick up the win, while RHP Corey Miller tossed a scoreless 10th to earn his 1st save for the Lake Monsters.

Starter Argenis Blanco allowed just 1 unearned run over 4 1/3 innings of work and left the game with a 7-run lead on Tuesday. And the 19-year-old has now failed to allow an earned run in 12 1/3 innings over his last 3 appearances. LHP Jorge Martinez picked up the win with 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, while outfielder Luis Barrera singled, tripled and drove in 2, and third baseman Miguel Mercedes had 2 hits and drove in a pair for the A’s.
