Outfielder Max Kuhn singled in the Snappers’ first run of the game in the top of the 1st inning. Then, with one on, one out and the game tied in the top of the 5th, Kuhn clubbed a 2-run homer to give Beloit the lead, and the Snappers would never look back on Friday. Second baseman Tim Proudfoot collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 4, while shortstop Yairo Munoz singled, doubled and drove in a run, and designated hitter Argenis Raga had 2 hits and a walk and drove in a pair for the Snappers. Starter Joey Wagman had a rough outing, allowing 5 runs over just 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Kevin Johnson picked up the win despite giving up 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief for Beloit.

Starter Cody Martin allowed 3 runs over 7 innings of work to take his 3rd loss on Friday. Catcher Bryan Anderson homered to tie the game in the bottom of the 5th, but it was the only run the Sounds would score. First baseman Anthony Aliotti and third baseman Niuman Romero had a pair of hits apiece, and shortstop Andy Parrino went 1 for 4 in his return to action for the Sounds after missing time while participating in the Pan Am Games. Meanwhile, with RHP Angel Castro’s recall by the A’s, RHP was Arnold Leon was optioned back to Nashville.

First baseman Renato Nunez doubled in Midland’s only run in the bottom of the 6th, while designated hitter Rangel Ravelo also doubled, and second baseman Colin Walsh and shortstop Chad Pinder both singled for the Hounds. Starter Jake Sanchez allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, over 6 innings of work to take his 7th loss for the RockHounds.

With two outs, two on and his team down by two runs in the top of the 6th, first baseman Michael Soto slugged a 3-run homer to provide the margin of victory for the Ports on Friday. Designated hitter Beau Taylor had 3 hits and drove in a run, while shortstop Melvin Mercedes doubled in a run, and catcher Jacob Nottingham had a pair of hits and scored a run for the Ports. Starter Matt Stalcup gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, over 4 innings of work, while RHP Sam Bragg picked up the win despite allowing 1 run in 2 innings of relief, and RHP Brendan McCurry pitched a perfect 9th to post his 20th save for the Ports. Meanwhile, RHP Blake Hassebrock, who had been on Stockton’s disabled list all season, was released by the A’s.

First baseman Chris Iriart hit his 3rd home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning to provide the only run of the game in Vermont’s 1-0 victory on Friday. Second baseman Jesus Lopez went 2 for 3 to collect the Lake Monsters’ only other hits in the game. Starter Evan Manarino threw 3 shutout innings, while RHP Heath Bowers allowed just 1 hit and struck out 4 in 3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win, and RHP James Naile oit the final six outs for his 4th save.

 

ARIZONA LEAGUE  (Rookie Short-Season)

Farmhand Of The Game:

First Baseman Shane Conlon

(2 for 3 / Double / 2 RBIs)

First baseman Shane Conlon doubled in the A’s first run on the game in the bottom of the 1st on Friday and then singled in another run in the 6th for the A’s. Outfielder Jhonny Rodriguez doubled in a run, while designated hitter Mike Martin had a pair of hits and scored twice. Starter Branden Kelliher struck out 3 in 2 2/3 scoreless innings, while 20-year-old Venezuelan LHP Ivan Andueza threw 3 1/3 shutout innings to earn the win, and RHP Dustin Hurlbutt got the final out in the 9th to notch his 3rd save.
