The RockHounds shut out the Naturals for the second straight night on Sunday. RHP Jake Sanchez turned in an impressive start, striking out 6 over 6 2/3 shutout innings to earn his 7th win. RHP Tucker Healy got the final out in the 7th, then RHP Bobby Wahl tossed a scoreless 8th, and RHP Ryan Dull pitched a perfect 9th to notch his 9th save and complete the 6-hit shutout on Sunday. Shortstop Chad Pinder doubled in the RockHounds’ first run in the 3rd, while first baseman Rangel Ravelo had 3 hits and drove in a run in his second game since joining Midland.

After making two straight strong starts for the Sounds, RHP Nate Long suffered through a shaky outing on Sunday, allowing 6 runs over 5 innings of work to take the loss. RHP Aaron Kurcz, recently acquired from Atlanta, gave up 2 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief, and RHP Ryan Cook surrendered 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to raise his ERA to 4.94. Third baseman Max Muncy smacked a 2-run homer to put the Sounds on the board in the 2nd inning, while center fielder Craig Gentry singled, walked and drove in a run, and designated hitter Dayan Viciedo had a pair of hits and a walk and scored twice for the Sounds. Meanwhile, Oakland optioned RHP Chris Bassitt back to Nashville, while Sounds RHP Dan Otero was recalled by the A’s.

After turning in one of his best starts his last time out, RHP Kyle Finnegan endured a rough outing on Sunday, allowing 7 runs on 8 hits, including 4 home runs, to take his 6th loss for Stockton. Third baseman Matt Chapman smacked his 15th home run, a 3-run shot, to briefly give the Ports their only lead of the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Chapman also singled, doubled and walked in the game, while outfielder Tyler Marincov singled, homered and drove in a pair for the Ports.

Outfielder Justin Higley hit a 2-run homer, while second baseman Trent Gilbert had 2 hits and drove in a pair. Catcher Argenis Raga had 3 hits, including a double, and outfielder James Harris singled, walked twice, stole a base and drove in a run for the Snappers.

This year’s top draft pick for the A’s, shortstop Richie Martin, hit his 2nd home run, a 2-run shot, while the A’s 2nd-round pick, third baseman Mikey White, singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Catcher Seong-min Kim collected 3 hits, and first baseman Chris Iriart and right fielder Ryan Howell both singled and doubled for the Lake Monsters.

Shortstop Edwin Diaz singled, walked and homered, while designated hitter Jhonny Rodriguez had 3 hits, including a double, and first baseman Shane Conlon singled and drove in the tying run with a sacrifice fly in the 6th inning.
