Outfielder Jason Pridie slugged a 3-run homer in the 1st inning to give the Sounds an early lead in the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader at Memphis. Pridie also drew a pair of walks in the game and hit a 2-run homer a little earlier in the evening in the first game of the doubleheader. After Memphis tied the game in the bottom of the 5th, third baseman Max Muncy then singled in a pair of runs in the top of the 6th to provide the margin of victory for Nashville. Starter Zach Neal allowed 3 runs over 7 innings to earn his 7th win as the Sounds swept the doubleheader on Thursday.

LHP Barry Zito turned in his fourth straight quality start for the Sounds, allowing just 2 runs over 7 innings to earn his 6th win in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader. Outfielder Jason Pridie hit a 2-run homer to put Nashville on the board in the top of the 4th and then drove in another run on a sacrifice fly in the 5th, while outfielder Craig Gentry and third baseman Max Muncy both doubled for the Sounds.

The RockHounds were shut out on just 4 hits on Thursday. Second baseman Wade Kirkland and shortstop Chad Pinder both doubled – though Pinder was thrown out trying to steal third – while outfielder Matt Angle and Matt Olson, getting his second straight start at third base, both singled. RHP Chris Jensen had his fourth straight rocky start for the RockHounds, allowing 4 runs over 5 2/3 innings to take his 9th loss.

RHP Joel Seddon had a rare rough start for Stockton, allowing 4 runs in just 4 innings of work to take his 5th loss, while LHP Victor Veliz gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of relief on Thursday. Outfielder Tyler Marincov smacked a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning to provide the Ports with all their scoring on the night.

Starter Heath Fillmyer gave up 3 runs in 4 innings of work for the Snappers, while RHP Koby Gauna allowed 3 unearned runs in the 9th, with the help of a missed catch by first baseman Sandber Pimentel, to take the loss on Thursday. Pimentel doubled twice and drove in a run, while designated hitter Jose Brizuela tripled in the tying run in the 6th, and outfielder Max Kuhn had a pair of hits in the loss.

Starter Dustin Driver allowed 4 runs in just 4 innings of work, while 5th-round LHP Kevin Duchene tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief, but RHP Corey Miller gave up 4 runs in the top of the 12th to take the loss. 12th-round first baseman Chris Iriart had 3 hits, including a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th for the Lake Monsters.

This year’s 27th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Xavier Altamirano, gave up 3 runs in 3 innings of work to take his 1st loss on Thursday, while 18-year-old Venezuelan RHP Jesus Zambrano gave up 3 more runs over 3 2/3 innings, and converted catcher Ryan Gorton tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. Left fielder Robert Martinez doubled in the A’s only run in the top of the 7th, while right fielder Brett Siddall singled and doubled in the loss.
