Last year’s 3rd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brett Graves, turned in one of his best starts of the season for the Snappers, allowing just 4 hits and striking out 4 over 6 shutout innings to earn his 6th win on Sunday. And the 22-year-old has now allowed just 1 earned run over his last 12 innings of work. RHP Carlos Navas gave up 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of relief, while LHP Jose Torres got the final five outs for his 5th save. First baseman Max Kuhn belted a 2-run homer to put Beloit on the board in the 6th, while second baseman Trent Gilbert and third baseman Jose Brizuela each had a pair of hits and drove in a run, and outfielder Justin Higley drew 3 walks, stole a base and scored a run in his first game for the Snappers since being sent down from Stockton. Catcher Andy Paz also joined the Snappers roster from extended spring training, while catcher Argenis Raga and outfielder Shawn Duinkerk were reassigned to Vermont.

LHP Brad Mills turned in his sixth quality start for the Sounds, allowing just 2 runs over 6 1/3 innings of work on Sunday. RHP Angel Castro tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, while RHP R.J. Alvarez got the final three outs for his 5th save. Catcher Luke Carlin and third baseman Ryan Roberts each singled, doubled and drove in a run, while center fielder Jason Pridie and right fielder Matt Carson had a pair of hits apiece, and left fielder Alden Carrithers singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 9th for the Sounds.

RHP Chris Jensen had another rough start for the RockHounds of Sunday, allowing 7 runs over 4 2/3 innings to take his 4th loss, while RHPs Seth Frankoff and Kris Hall combined to throw 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. The Hounds scored just 1 run on 4 hits on Sunday. Their only run came on third baseman Renato Nunez’s 6th home run of the season, which was also his 3rd in his last 5 games for Midland. Outfielder Jaycob Brugman, shortstop Wade Kirkland and first baseman Ryon Healy all singled in the loss.

Rehabbing RHP A.J. Griffin looked sharp for Stockton on Sunday, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk and striking out 5 while throwing 56 pitches, 39 for strikes, over 4 shutout innings in his second rehab appearance for the Ports. Fellow Tommy John survivor Dillon Overton followed Griffin on the mound and gave up 5 runs over 4 innings of work to take his 2nd loss. Shortstop Franklin Barreto singled in Stockton’s only run in the 7th, while outfielder J.P. Sportman singled, walked and stole a base in the loss.
