RHP Zach Neal turned in his third straight impressive start for Nashville to help the Sounds win their eighth straight on Monday. The 26-year-old gave up just 1 run while going 8 innings to earn his 4th win for the Sounds, and Neal has now allowed a total of just 3 earned runs over his last three starts. RHP Brock Huntzinger tossed a scoreless 9th to close things out for Nashville. Second baseman Joey Wendle collected 3 hits, including a 3-run homer in the 3rd to put the Sounds on the board, while outfielder Matt Carson slugged a solo shot in the 7th, and shortstop Niuman Romero and third baseman Ryan Roberts had a pair of hits apiece for the Sounds.

LHP Dillon Overton delivered his second straight strong start for Stockton on Monday, giving up just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 4 over 5 shutout innings to earn his 2nd win. Over his last two starts, the 23-year-old has now allowed just 2 hits and 2 walks and struck out 10 in 10 scoreless innings. RHP Brendan McCurry got the final four outs to post his 6th save. Third baseman Matt Chapman hit a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 1st. It was the third homer in the last two days and the sixth on the season for last year’s 1st-round pick for the A’s. Second baseman Branden Cogswell and shortstop Franklin Barreto hit back-to-back homers in the 6th, while designated hitter Brett Vertigan had a pair of hits and stole his 10th base, and outfielder J.P. Sportman went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts in his first game back in action after being activated from the disabled list. Meanwhile, RHP Ben Bracewell was placed on the 7-day disabled list for Stockton.

RHP Brett Graves had one of his best starts of the season for the Snappers on Monday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 6 over 6 innings of work to earn his 5th win. Relievers Cody Stull, Jerad Grundy and Carlos Navas combined to throw 3 scoreless innings in relief. Second baseman Trent Gilbert had a big day at the plate for Beloit, collecting 3 doubles and driving in 5 runs, while outfielders James Harris and Robert Martinez had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers.
