RHP Kendall Graveman turned in an impressive start for the Sounds, allowing just 2 unearned runs on 5 hits while walking none and striking out 3 over 7 innings of work on Sunday. The 24-year-old earned his 2nd win and lowered his ERA to 1.85 after 4 starts for Nashville. RHP Ryan Cook pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings in relief to pick up his 4th save for the Sounds. Outfielder Matt Carson, reacquired a little over a week ago in a deal with the Dodgers, hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd and singled in another run in the 4th, while first baseman Anthony Aliotti and third baseman Niuman Romero both singled, walked and drove in a run, and shortstop Andy Parrino and second baseman Joey Wendle had a pair of hits apiece for the Sounds. In other news, with A’s first baseman Ike Davis landing on the disabled list, Sounds outfielder Craig Gentry was recalled by Oakland.

Starter Chris Jensen allowed 3 runs on 11 hits over 7 innings of work on Sunday. But with the game tied in the top of the 9th, RHP Jonathan Joseph gave up 2 runs, 1 of them unearned thanks to a throwing error by third baseman Ryon Healy, to take his 1st loss for the RockHounds. Outfielder Chad Oberacker hit his 4th home run to put the Hounds on the board in the 5th and doubled in another run in the 7th, while shortstop Chad Pinder had 3 hits, including a double, walked and drove in the RockHounds’ only other run of the game.

After a couple of rocky outings, RHP Lou Trivino returned with his best start yet for Stockton, allowing 1 run on just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 6 over 6 innings of work, but he left with the game a 1-1 tie. LHP Sean Doolittle followed on in the 7th and proceeded to give up 2 runs on 3 hits while reportedly not topping 90 mph on the radar gun, and he ended up taking the loss in his second rehab appearance for the Ports. LHP Omar Duran, re-signed by the A’s as a minor league free agent after being cut loose by the Tigers, struck out 2 in a scoreless 8th in his return to the Ports, and RHP Brendan McCurry got the final three outs in the 9th. Second baseman Branden Cogswell singled, doubled and drove in Stockton’s only run of the game, while third baseman Matt Chapman doubled, and outfielder Brett Vertigan tripled and scored in the loss. With Duran’s addition to the Ports roster, RHP Joey Wagman was reassigned to the Snappers.

The A’s 3rd-round draft pick last year, RHP Brett Graves, allowed 3 runs in 5 innings of work to pick up his 3rd win on Sunday, while RHP Rob Huber tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 3rd save for the Snappers. Second baseman Trent Gilbert singled, doubled and drove in 3, while outfielder Robert Martinez singled, doubled and drove in 2, and third baseman Edwin Diaz and outfielders James Harris and Shawn Duinkerk had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers.
