Shortstop Dusty Coleman hit 2 home runs, including a 1st-inning grand slam, to help lead the RockHounds to a 10-8 victory over Corpus Christi on Friday. Coleman also slugged a solo shot in the 5th inning and currently leads the team with 17 home runs on the season. Third baseman Hiro Nakajima hit his 5th home run, while right fielder Kent Matthes singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and left fielder D’Arby Myers had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Nate Long allowed 4 runs over 5 2/3 innings to earn his 12th win, tying him with teammate Chris Jensen for the Texas League lead in wins, while RHP Ryan Dull got the final five outs for his 4th save.

RHP Arnold Leon turned in a solid start for Sacramento, allowing 3 runs, just 2 earned, while walking none and striking out 5 over 6 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Friday. RHP Paul Smyth tossed 1 scoreless inning, while RHP Fernando Rodriguez gave up 1 run in 1 inning of relief for the River Cats. Outfielder Nick Buss singled, walked twice and scored the only run for Sacramento. Meanwhile, the A’s sent RHP Dan Otero to the River Cats while outfielder Craig Gentry returned to Oakland.

First baseman Matt Olson singed, doubled, tripled and drove in 2 runs, while shortstop Daniel Robertson singled, doubled and drove in 3, and second baseman Chad Pinder had a pair of hits, stole a base and scored twice for Stockton.

1st-round draft pick Matt Chapman had a big night in Beloit, hitting a grand slam to bring in the winning run while also doubling and driving in another pair of runs for the Snappers. Designated hitter Philip Pohl singled, doubled and drove in 2, while right fielder Luis Baez had a pair of hits, and shortstop Branden Cogswell singled, drew 3 walks and scored twice. Starter Kyle Finnegan allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work to post his 7th win for the Snappers.

Third baseman Jose Brizuela singled, walked and drove in a pair, while left fielder Max Kuhn singled in a run, and center fielder Ben McQuown singled, scored a run and swiped a pair of bases for the Lake Monsters.
