Shortstop Chad Pinder helped lead Stockton to an 11-3 victory on Thursday night. Pinder collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, while outfielder Tyler Marincov doubled, had a pair of singles and drove in a run, and third baseman Renato Nunez had 3 hits and drove in a pair for the Ports. Starter Tim Alderson allowed 3 runs over 7 innings of work to earn his 4th win for Stockton.

Second baseman Jose Martinez had 2 hits and drove in the River Cats’ only run of the game, while outfielder Nick Buss, singled, walked and stole a base, and shortstop Tyler Ladendorf had a pair of hits in the loss.

RHP Murphy Smith turned in a strong start for the RockHounds, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 4 over 5 2/3 innings to earn the win in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader at Midland. RHP Jose Flores got the final four outs for his 10th save. Outfielder Kenny Wilson had 3 hits, stole a base and drove in a run, while catcher Blake Forsythe doubled and drove in a pair, and second baseman Conner Crumbliss singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Second baseman Trace Loehr singled, doubled, stole a base and scored a run, while outfielder Robert Martinez tripled in a pair of runs to tie things up just before the game was called in the bottom of the 8th inning.
