RHP Jonathan Joseph was impressive in a spot start for Stockton, allowing just 2 hits over 5 shutout innings to earn his 6th win on Wednesday. RHPs Andres Avila and Nolan Sanburn both tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, with Sanburn picking up his 6th save for Stockton. First baseman Matt Olson hit his league-leading 36th home run, a 2-run shot, while outfielder Tyler Marincov singled, doubled and drove in a run, and shortstop Daniel Robertson singled, doubled, walked and stole a pair of bases for the Ports.

Starter Matt Buschmann tossed 5 scoreless innings before giving up 3 runs in the 6th inning and ended up allowing 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 over 6 2/3 innings of work to earn his 8th win on Wednesday. Buschmann currently leads all A’s minor leaguers in strikeouts with 124 in 128 1/3 innings. RHP Philip Humber tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, while RHP Evan Scribner got the final three outs to earn his 16th save for Sacramento. Outfielder Nick Buss hit a 2-run homer, while second baseman Jose Martinez had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run, and shortstop Tyler Ladendorf went 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts in his first game back in action for Sacramento after returning from his 50-game suspension. Infielder Wade Kirkland returned to Stockton to make room for Ladendorf on the River Cats roster.

RHP Junior Mendez had a rough start on Wednesday and once again was undone by the long ball. Mendez allowed 6 runs on 5 hits, including 2 home runs, over just 3 1/3 innings to take his 8th loss for the Snappers. Second baseman Luis Baez had 3 hits, stole a base and drove in a run, while outfielder B.J. Boyd doubled in a pair of runs, and first baseman Michael Soto doubled and scored a run in the loss.

A’s 10th-round draft pick Corey Miller struck out 3 over 4 2/3 scoreless innings of work, while 4th-round pick Jordan Schwartz picked up his 1st professional win after allowing 1 run in 2 innings of relief, and 20th-round pick Koby Gauna got the final three outs for his 9th save. Outfielder Ben McQuown had 2 hits and drove in a run, while second baseman Trent Gilbert doubled in a run, and outfielder Scott Masik had a pair of hits for the Lake Monsters.

Rehabbing RHP Tanner Peters tossed 2 scoreless innings, but A’s 8th-round draft pick Branden Kelliher was a little wild on Wednesday, allowing 7 runs on 4 hits and 5 walks over just 1 2/3 innings of work to take his 3rd loss for the A’s. Third baseman Miguel Mercedes singled, doubled and drove in the A’s only run of the game, while shortstop Trace Loehr collected 3 hits, and catcher Argenis Raga had a pair of hits in the loss.
