Beloit starter Matt Stalcup tossed a complete-game shutout on Tuesday, allowing just 3 hits while walking none and striking out 8 to earn his 5th win for the Snappers. And last year’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s has now walked just 18 batters over 80 2/3 innings of work this season. First baseman Michael Soto hit his 4th home run, while second baseman Melvin Mercedes drove in a pair of runs, and outfielder Justin Higley singled, stole a base and scored a run for the Snappers.

Left fielder Shane Peterson hit his 11th home run on Tuesday, a 2-run shot in the 6th inning, to give Peterson a total of 82 RBIs for the River Cats. The PCL All-Star has been riding a hot streak lately and is now hitting .500 with a pair of home runs over his last 4 games for Sacramento. Shortstop Jose Martinez had 3 hits and scored twice, while second baseman Colin Walsh singled in a pair of runs. Designated hitter Kyle Blanks went 2 for 5 and scored a run, and right fielder Craig Gentry went 0 for 3 in his second rehab game with the River Cats. Starter Zach Neal allowed 4 runs, 2 earned, over 6 2/3 innings of work to earn his 6th win for Sacramento.

Shortstop Dusty Coleman singled, homered and drove in 3, and catcher Blake Forsythe doubled, had a pair of singles, walked twice, scored twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Shawn Haviland allowed 2 runs over 5 2/3 innings of work to earn his 6th win for the Hounds.

Stockton starter Chris Lamb allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work to take his 4th loss on Tuesday, while RHP Michael Ynoa tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief in his first appearance for the Ports since July 27. Stockton managed just 4 hits in the game, with outfielder Tyler Marincov doubling for the team’s only extra-base hit of the night.
