Starter Lou Trivino turned in a strong start for the Snappers, allowing 2 runs and striking out 8 over 6 innings of work to earn his 7th win on Monday. Outfielder Justin Higley doubled and hit his 1st home run for the Snappers, while catcher Josh Ludy singled, drew a pair of walks and scored twice, and third baseman Matt Chapman tripled in a run for Beloit. In other news, RHP Lee Sosa has returned to the Beloit bullpen from Vermont.

RHP Angel Castro had a rough start for the River Cats on Monday, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits and 4 walks over 4 2/3 innings of work to take the loss for Sacramento. The River Cats managed just 2 hits and struck out 11 times on the night, with outfielder Shane Peterson and first baseman Kyle Blanks both going for 1 for 3. Peterson was also one of two River Cats hitters not to register a strikeout in the game. A’s outfielder Craig Gentry went 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts while batting leadoff and serving as the designated hitter in his first rehab game with the River Cats.

Outfielder Jaycob Brugman hit his 9th home run in his last 10 games, while second baseman Chad Pinder doubled and tripled in 2 runs, and shortstop Daniel Robertson walked and singled in a pair of runs for the Ports.

Shortstop Jesus Lopez, batting 9th, went 4 for 4 with a double and drove in 2 runs, while second baseman Trace Loehr had a pair of hits, and first baseman Shawn Duinkerk doubled in a run for the A’s.
