RHP Jake Sanchez turned in another solid start for Stockton on Monday, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work to earn his 7th win for the Ports. Sanchez has now struck out 51 and walked only 11 in 55 innings while posting a 3.27 ERA and winning 7 of his 9 starts since joining Stockton. After slugging a grand slam in the 1st inning on Saturday, designated hitter Renato Nunez hit a 3-run homer in the 1st to give the Ports a quick lead on Monday. First baseman Matt Olson singled, doubled and homered, while outfielder Bobby Crocker singled and homered, and shortstop Daniel Robertson hit his 15th home run for Stockton. Meanwhile, Ports pitcher Chris Lamb was named the California League Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Starter Arnold Leon allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work to take his 6th loss for Sacramento on Monday, while RHPs Fernando Rodriguez, Evan Scribner and Tucker Healy each tossed a scoreless inning in relief. The River Cats managed just 4 hits in the game. Outfielder Shane Peterson slugged his 9th home run, while designated hitter Alden Carrithers singled, drove in a run and stole a base, and catcher Luis Martinez went 0 for 3 in his first game for Sacramento.

Starter Junior Mendez once again was victimized by the long ball, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, including 2 home runs, over just 4 innings of work, but Beloit batters put up 9 runs to bail Mendez out on Monday. RHP Trevor Bayless earned the win after allowing just 1 unearned run over 3 innings, and RHP Tyler Vail picked up the save despite surrendering 3 runs in 2 innings of relief. Outfielder B.J. Boyd collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, while second baseman Melvin Mercedes also had 3 hits and scored 3 times. Designated hitter Ryan Mathews hit his 8th home run, and outfielder Justin Higley and first baseman Michal Soto each had 2 hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Snappers. Meanwhile, Beloit outfielder Tyler Marincov was named the Midwest League Player of the Week on Monday.

After being named the New York-Penn League Player of the Week, center fielder J.P. Sportman went 3 for 4 on Monday to raise his average with the Lake Monsters to .396. Shortstop Yairo Munoz singled and doubled, while left fielder Max Kuhn singled in a run, and third baseman Jose Brizuela doubled and scored. Starter Daniel Gossett allowed just 1 hit and struck out 3 over 2 scoreless innings of work, while RHP Brett Graves gave up 4 runs on 5 hits over 3 innings to take the loss for the Lake Monsters.
