Outfielder Jaycob Brugman had a big night in his second game since being promoted to the Ports. Brugman doubled in Stockton’s first run in the 3rd, homered in the 8th to bring the Ports within a run, then singled in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 9th to give his new team the walk-off win on Tuesday. Shortstop Daniel Robertson had a pair of doubles, while Matt Olson went 1 for 3 with a walk in his first start in right field. Seth Streich had a rare shaky start for Stockton, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings of work, while RHP Jonathan Joseph struck out 4 in 2 perfect innings of relief, and RHP Michael Ynoa tossed a scoreless 8th and 9th to pick up his 4th win for the Ports. Meanwhile, infielder Colin Walsh was once again sent from Sacramento to Stockton on Tuesday.

The River Cats were routed by Fresno 14-2 on Tuesday. RHP Zach Neal had a rough start, allowing 10 runs, 4 earned, on 13 hits in 3 2/3 innings to take his 4th loss for Sacramento. Outfielder Nick Buss collected 4 hits, while catcher Luis Exposito and second baseman Jake Elmore had a pair of hits apiece for the Cats. LHP Tommy Milone and outfielder Kenny Wilson officially joined the team on Tuesday and, with the River Cats roster crunch, infielder Colin Walsh was sent back to Stockton.

Outfielder Ryan Mathews took care of business for Beloit on Tuesday, driving in all 5 of the Snappers runs. Mathews singled in his team’s first run in the 2nd and then hit a grand slam in the 6th to put the Snappers up for good. Outfielder Tyler Marincov singled, doubled, walked and scored twice, while designated hitter Branden Cogswell, this year’s 7th-round draft pick for the A’s, went 1 for 4 and stole a base in his debut for Beloit. RHP Hunter Adkins delivered his first solid start for the Snappers, allowing just 1 run and striking out 4 over 5 1/3 innings, while RHP Brendan McCurry struck out 3 in 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up his 1st win, and RHP Bobby Wahl pitched a perfect 1 2/3 innings to post his 2nd save. In addition to Cogswell, outfielder Justin Higley also joined the Snappers on Tuesday but did not make an appearance in the game.

Designated hitter Scott Masik doubled in the tying and winning runs with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to give Vermont the walk-off win on Tuesday. Second baseman Joe Bennie singled, doubled, tripled, walked and drove in a run, while outfielder Dayton Alexander had a pair of hits, stole a base and scored a run for the Lake Monsters. Starter Jose Torres allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, on 7 hits over 3 2/3 innings, while RHP Fernando Cruzado tossed a scoreless 9th to pick up his 2nd win.

This year’s 8th-round draft pick for the A’s, 18-year-old RHP Branden Kelliher, had his second solid outing for the A’s, tossing 3 scoreless and hitless innings while walking 2 and striking out 2 on Tuesday. LHP Tyler Painton, signed as a non-drafted free agent, allowed 3 runs in 1 inning of work, while LHP Cody Stull struck out 4 in 3 scoreless innings, and RHP Tyler Willman gave up 3 runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief to take the loss. Second baseman Trent Gilbert had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, walked and drove in 2 runs, while designated hitter Seongmin Kim singled, doubled and walked. Outfielder J.P. Sportman doubled and drew 3 walks, and first baseman Michael Soto drove in a pair for the A’s.
