RHP Arnold Leon was impressive on Wednesday, allowing just 2 baserunners over 6 shutout innings to earn his 7th win for Sacramento. Leon retired 13 of the first 14 batters he faced and 18 of 20 on the night. Rehabbing LHP Eric O’Flaherty didn’t allow any baserunners in the 7th, nor did LHP Justin Marks in the 8th, and RHP Jeremy McBryde wrapped things up with a perfect 9th for his 5th save. Designated hitter Nate Freiman walked, homered and drove in a pair of runs, while center fielder Shane Peterson singled and doubled, and right fielder Josh Reddick went 1 for 3 and threw out Carlos Pena at second base in his first rehab appearance with the River Cats.

In Other News…

After a downpour rolled in at Midland, Wednesday night’s RockHounds game was postponed and will be made up later next month as part of a doubleheader. Before the postponement, Addison Russell singled and ground out in 2 at-bats in his second game back in action for Midland. Also, RHP Marcus Walden was officially added to the RockHounds roster on Wednesday. And it looks like RHP Jake Sanchez, who was acquired from the White Sox in the Michael Taylor trade, will be joining the Stockton Ports. Sanchez posted a 2.80 ERA in 9 starts and 6 relief appearances for Class-A Kannapolis this season.
