The A’s have now signed 7 of the team’s top 10 picks in this year’s draft, with #3 RHP Brett Graves, #5 RHP Heath Fillmyer and #7 SS Branden Cogswell the only remaining unsigned top 10 picks for the A’s. Chapman took batting practice at the Coliseum on Monday and launched a few balls over the outfield fence. He also announced that he would be heading to the A’s training facility in Phoenix for a few days before beginning his season with Beloit in the Midwest League next week. Chapman can be expected to take over as the Snappers’ starting third baseman, with B.A. Vollmuth sticking at first base.
