Starter Nate Long, recently named a Texas League All-Star, had a rare rough outing for the RockHounds, allowing 6 runs, 5 earned, on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings to take his 2nd loss on Tuesday. His fellow All-Star, shortstop Dusty Coleman, accounted for all the Hounds’ scoring on the night, hitting a pair of home runs, but he also made a pair of errors in the loss. In other news, it looks like shortstop Addison Russell is set to return to the RockHounds on Sunday, once Stockton begins the California League All-Star break.

Farmhand Of The Game:

Designated Hitter Herschel Powell

(2 for 7 / RBI / 2 Stolen Bases)

After playing a doubleheader on Monday, then driving all night from southern Iowa to northern Wisconsin, the Snappers played 17 innings before finally wrapping up the win on Tuesday night. Designated hitter Herschel Powell did much of the damage in extra innings. His bunt single brought around the go-ahead run in the top of the 15th before Wisconsin tied the game again in the bottom of the 15th. Powell then reached on another bunt single in the 17th and eventually came around to score the winning run when he attempted to take third after Jaycob Brugman’s strikeout and a throwing error allowed him to make it home. Outfielder Tyler Marincov singled and drove in a pair, while second baseman Chih-Fang Pan and catcher Philip Pohl had 3 hits apiece for the Snappers. Starter Junior Mendez allowed just 1 run over 5 innings of work, while RHP Sam Bragg gave up 4 runs in the 7th to allow Wisconsin to tie the game. Infielder Sam Roberts gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief, while outfielder Ryan Mathews came in to toss a perfect 16th and 17th inning to earn his 1st win.
