RHP Zach Neal turned in his second straight strong start since his return to the RockHounds, striking out 6 while walking none over 7 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win on Saturday. First baseman Max Muncy had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while outfielder Josh Whitaker singled, doubled and drove in 3. Outfielder Billy Burns continued his hot hitting of late, collecting 4 hits, including a triple and a double, and also notched his 27th stolen base.

RHP Arnold Leon had a solid start for Sacramento on Saturday, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits over 5 innings of work to earn his 6th win for the River Cats. Sacramento’s offense kept the pressure off Leon, putting 7 runs on the board over the first 5 innings. Outfielder Nick Buss collected 4 hits and drove in 2 runs, while designated hitter Daric Barton bashed 3 doubles and drove in 3, and shortstop Andy Parrino and third baseman Jose Martinez had 3 hits apiece and each drove in a pair for the Cats.

(6 2/3 IP / 5 H / 1 ER / 2 BB / 7 K / Win)

 

RHP Seth Streich had another strong start for Stockton on Saturday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 7 over 6 2/3 innings to earn his 7th win on Saturday, while RHP Michael Ynoa tossed 1 1/3 perfect innings in relief, and RHP Nolan Sanburn got the final 3 outs in the win. Catcher Bruce Maxwell singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs, while second baseman Wade Kirkland and third baseman Ryon Healy each drove in a run for the Ports. Maxwell exited the game in the 6th inning shortly after being struck by a bat on the backswing. After the game, Maxwell claimed that he was fine and experiencing no symptoms and ready to be back out there on Sunday. Also expected to make his first appearance for Stockton this season in Sunday’s game is rehabbing shortstop Addison Russell.
