RHP Shawn Haviland continued his impressive return from Tommy John surgery on Wednesday, tossing 7 shutout innings to earn his 3rd win for the RockHounds, while RHP Tucker Healy struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings of relief to post his 1st save. Designated hitter Miles Head had 2 hits and drove in both the Hounds’ runs in the game, while outfielder Kent Matthes had a pair of hits and stole a base, and outfielder Billy Burns singled, doubled and walked for Midland.

RHP Hunter Adkins had a rough start for Stockton, allowing 8 runs on 10 hits over 3 innings to take his 3rd loss on Wednesday. Third baseman Renato Nunez singled, doubled and drove in the Ports’ only run of the game. Meanwhile, it was announced on Wednesday that Ports pitcher Seth Streich and catcher Bruce Maxwell have both been named to the California League All-Star team.

RHP Junior Mendez turned in a strong start for the Snappers on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits over 6 innings, while RHP Tyler Vail tossed 2 scoreless innings to pick up his 2nd win, and RHP Andres Avila got the final 3 outs for his 7th save. Outfielder Herschel Powell reached base in all 4 trips to the plate, on 3 hits and a walk, while first baseman B.A. Vollmuth singled, walked, stole a base and drove in both Beloit’s runs in the game. In other news, RHPs Kyle Finnegan and Andres Avila as well as outfielder Herschel Powell and infielder Luis Baez were all named to the Midwest League Western Division All-Star team on Wednesday.
