RHP Matt Buschmann delivered an impressive start for Sacramento on Saturday, allowing 3 runs, just 2 earned, while walking none and striking out 9 over 7 innings of work to earn his 4th win for the Cats. Catcher Stephen Vogt continued his hot hitting, notching a double along with a 3-run homer, while outfielder Michael Taylor homered and drove in 3, and first baseman Daric Barton belted his 1st home run for the River Cats. With Saturday’s victory, Sacramento has now won 10 of its last 11 games.

LHP Andrew Werner had another shaky start for the RockHounds, allowing 5 runs over 4 2/3 innings to take his 4th loss on Saturday. RHP Tucker Healy was impressive in relief though, striking out 6 in 2 innings of work. First baseman Max Muncy had 2 hits and drove in a pair of runs, while outfielder Josh Whitaker had 2 hits and drove in a run, and outfielder Billy Burns also had 2 hits, scored twice and stole a pair of bases to increase his league-leading total to 25. Meanwhile, RHP Zach Neal is scheduled to make his first start since his return to the RockHounds on Sunday.

RHP Tim Atherton turned in a solid start for Stockton on Saturday, allowing 2 runs while striking out 7 over 7 innings of work to earn his 5th win. Rehabbing RHP Ryan Cook allowed no baserunners in 1 scoreless of inning of relief, while RHP Austin House got the final 3 outs for his 7th save. Designated hitter Renato Nunez hit a 2-run homer to tie the game in the 6th inning, while outfielder Bobby Crocker cracked his second double of the day to drive in the winning run in the 7th, and second baseman Wade Kirkland collected a pair of hits for the Ports.

Outfielder Herschel “Boog” Powell continued his hot hitting on Saturday, collecting 4 hits, including the single that helped bring in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th for the Snappers. He also walked, drove in a run and swiped a pair of bases to increase his team-leading total to 11. Starter Kyle Finnegan had another strong start for the Snappers on Saturday, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits in 6 innings of work, while RHP Tyler Vail allowed 1 run over 2 innings, and RHP Andres Avila picked up the win despite giving up 3 runs, 1 earned, in 2 innings of relief.
