RHP Lou Trivino turned in a solid start for the Snappers, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits over 5 innings to earn his 3rd win on Wednesday, while RHP Sam Bragg tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief, and LHP Chris Lamb got the final 3 outs for his 2nd save. First baseman Ryan Huck hit his 3rd home run in the 4th inning to tie the game, and designated hitter Ryan Mathews, who’d singled, came around to score the winning run later in the inning when catcher Andy Paz laid down a sacrifice bunt for Beloit.

RHP Chris Jensen had a shaky start for the RockHounds, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits over 5 innings of work on Wednesday. Outfielder Josh Whitaker doubled, drove in a pair of runs, had an infield hit to lead off the bottom of the 9th and came around to score the first run in the RockHounds’ 3-run 9th. Outfielder Billy Burns singled in the winning run in the 9th, while second baseman Colin Walsh and Hiro Nakajima, serving as the designated hitter for the day, each hit his 1st home run earlier in the game, and RHP Seth Frankoff picked up his 1st win after tossing a scoreless top of the 9th for the Hounds. Meanwhile, word from Yahoo’s Jeff Passan is that RockHounds RHP Raul Alcantara underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday morning, but no official word from the A’s on anything yet.

RHP Josh Bowman had another rough start for Stockton on Wednesday, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks over 5 1/3 innings to take his 5th loss. Catcher Ryan Lipkin singled, doubled and drove in a run in his second game back since returning from the disabled list, while second baseman Wade Kirkland and designated hitter Ryon Healy had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.
