Outfielder Billy McKinney played a big role in the Ports’ win on Sunday, reaching base in all 5 trips to the plate – on 3 singles, a double and a walk – and driving in the tying run in the 7th and the go-ahead run in the 8th for Stockton. Shortstop Daniel Robertson had 3 hits and drove in 3, while second baseman Wade Kirkland posted a pair of doubles, first baseman Matt Olson singled, doubled and drove in a run, and catcher Ryan Lipkin went 1 for 5 in his first game for Stockton since being sent down from Midland. Starter Tim Atherton allowed 4 runs, 2 earned, in just 2 innings of work in his return from the disabled list, while LHP Omar Duran came on to toss 3 shutout innings, and RHP Kris Hall struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings of relief to pick up his 3rd win for Stockton.

Starter Josh Lindblom allowed 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks but had to exit the game after being hit with a line drive in the right ankle with no outs in the top of the 3rd inning on Sunday. RHP Philip Humber relieved Lindblom and gave up 4 runs, just 1 earned, over 2 2/3 innings, while RHP Derek Hooker tossed 2 scoreless innings of relief, and RHP Fernando Nieve got the final 6 outs of the game to earn his 1st win for the River Cats. Outfielder Jake Goebbert drove in the go-ahead run in the 3rd inning with a sacrifice fly and, after Salt Lake put 4 runs on the board in the top of the 5th, Goebbert hit his team-leading 6th home run in the bottom of the 5th to make it a 1-run game. Outfielder Shane Peterson singled in the tying tun in the bottom of the 8th, and catcher Ryan Ortiz singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to give Sacramento its second straight walk-off win on Sunday.

RHP Drew Granier allowed 5 runs, just 2 earned, over 5 2/3 innings of work, while LHP Frank Gailey tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. And with the game tied in the 9th, San Antonio strung together a walk, a single and a pair of sacrifice bunts to plate the winning run and hand RockHounds closer Seth Frankoff his 1st loss. Catcher Beau Taylor doubled in the tying and the go-ahead run for the RockHounds in the 5th inning, while outfielders Billy Burns and Conner Crumbliss and designated hitter Josh Whitaker posted a pair of hits apiece, and Hiroyuki Nakajima went 1 for 4 but made 4 errors in the field in his first game at shortstop for Midland.
