RHP Seth Streich turned in another solid start for Stockton, tossing 5 scoreless innings and leaving his team with a 3-run lead on Wednesday. Unfortunately, LHP Jeremy Barfield gave up 3 solo home runs in 2 innings of relief to allow Visalia to come back and tie the game. Barfield vultured the win though after Stockton took back the lead in the top of the 8th, and RHP Tucker Healy earned his 3rd save after striking out 6 in 2 scoreless innings to close out the game. Second baseman Wade Kirkland and outfielder Aaron Shipman both singled and drove in a run in the 4th, while shortstop Daniel Robertson singled, doubled, and hit his 3rd home run, a solo shot, in the 5th, and designated hitter Renato Nunez doubled in the 8th and eventually came around to score the winning run for the Ports on third baseman Ryon Healy’s sacrifice fly.

Starter Marcus Walden had a bit of a rocky outing for the River Cats on Wednesday, allowing 4 runs over 6 innings of work, but he still wound up with his 1st win, while RHP Evan Scribner tossed a scoreless 9th for his 5th save. Third baseman Alden Carrithers was right in the middle of all the action on Wednesday night, reaching base in all 5 plate appearances, on 3 walks and a pair of singles, while also scoring 3 times, driving in 2 runs and swiping a pair of bases. Second baseman Tyler Ladendorf hit his 1st home run, a 2-run shot, in the top of the 6th to break a 4-4 tie, while outfielder Shane Peterson collected 3 hits and drove in a run, and outfielder Michael Taylor had 2 hits and drove in a pair for the Cats.

RHP Lou Trivino was a little shaky in Wednesday’s start for the Snappers, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings of work, but he still ended up posting his 2nd win. LHP Brent Powers was impressive in relief, striking out 4 over 3 scoreless and hitless innings, while RHP Andres Avila got the final 3 outs for his 4th save. Third baseman B.A. Vollmuth belted a 3-run homer in the 6th inning to tie the game, while shortstop Luis Baez had 3 hits, including his 1st home run, outfielder Tyler Marincov tripled in a run, and outfielder B.J. Boyd singled, tripled, stole a base and scored twice for the Snappers.
