Farmhand Of The Game:

Outfielder Michael Taylor

(Grand Slam)

With the bases loaded and Sacramento down by 3 runs in the top of the 8th, outfielder Michael Taylor slugged a grand slam to put the River Cats up by a run. Fellow outfielder Jake Goebbert singled, homered and drove in 3 runs, while designated hitter Jose Martinez singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Cats. RHP Josh Lindblom had another rough start for the River Cats, allowing 8 runs on 10 hits over 5 innings of work on Monday. And with the River Cats up by a run in the 9th after Taylor’s slam, RHP Evan Scribner loaded the bases before giving up a grand slam to give El Paso the walk-off win and the series sweep over Sacramento. With Lindblom making the start on Monday, RHP Arnold Leon now looks to be in line to get his first major league start in the A’s doubleheader against Seattle on Wednesday.

Farmhand Of The Game:

First Baseman Anthony Aliotti

(Home Run / Triple / 4 RBIs)

First baseman Anthony Aliotti hit a 2-run homer in the 4th inning to give the RockHounds the lead, and he also tripled in a pair of runs in the Hounds’ 4-run 9th. RHP Drew Granier turned in a solid start for Midland on Monday, allowing 2 runs in 5 innings of work, while LHP Frank Gailey gave up 4 runs in 3 innings of relief. And with the game tied in the bottom of the 9th inning, RHP Ryan Doolittle loaded the bases before giving up a single to bring in the game-winning run and hand the walk-off win to Frisco on Monday. Max Muncy, whose middle finger on his left hand was struck by a thrown ball in a play at second base on Sunday, missed Monday’s game. Muncy was taken to a Frisco-area hospital for examination and his hand was placed in a soft cast to immobilize the finger until Midland’s team doctors can examine the injury further on Tuesday. It’s impossible to know the severity of the injury at this point, but a stint on the disabled list certainly seems like a distinct possibility.
