RHP Nate Long, making his second start since RHP Tanner Peters was placed on the disabled list, turned in an impressive performance on Sunday, allowing just 1 hit over 5 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd win for the RockHounds. Outfielder Chad Oberacker had 3 hits, including his 1st home run, and drove in 3 runs, while first baseman Max Muncy doubled, had a pair of singles and drove in 3, shortstop Dusty Coleman hit a 3-run homer in the 9th, and third baseman Jefry Marte singled to extend his hitting streak to 14 games.

After turning in strong starts in his last two outings, RHP Sean Murphy was a little shaky for Sacramento on Sunday, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits over 5 2/3 innings to take his 2nd loss, while RHP Philip Humber struck out 5 in 2 1/3 innings of relief and RHP Jose Flores tossed a scoreless 9th for the River Cats. Outfielder Michael Taylor singled, tripled, walked, drove in a run and stole a base, while third baseman Alden Carrithers singled, doubled and drove in a run, and Tyler Ladendorf, who walked twice, made his first start in center field this season for Sacramento. Ladendorf, who had been serving as the River Cats’ primary shortstop until Andy Parrino’s recent arrival, made 21 appearances in the outfield last season and has made a total of 55 appearances in center field throughout his career.

After tossing 11 shutout innings over his last two outings, RHP Seth Streich got off to a shaky start on Sunday, allowing 3 runs in the 1st inning before settling down to throw 4 2/3 scoreless innings and leaving the game with a 2-run lead and ultimately notching his 3rd win for Stockton. LHP Omar Duran came on to toss 3 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his 1st save. Catcher Bruce Maxwell hit his 3rd home run, while outfielder Dusty Robinson slugged his 5th round-tripper, and outfielder Bobby Crocker doubled in a pair of runs for the Ports. In other news, RHP Michael Ynoa has been making good progress recovering from his right bicep strain and is expected to be activated over the next couple of days.

 

MIDWEST LEAGUE  (Class-A)

Sunday’s Snappers game was suspended in the 8th inning with Beloit down by a run and is now scheduled to be completed on June 8. When the game was called, starter Kyle Finnegan had allowed 3 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings of work, while outfielder Jaycob Brugman hit his 1st home run and first baseman Michael Soto slugged his 2nd for the Snappers.
