Starter Arnold Leon had a solid start for Sacramento on Friday, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings, and he left the game with a 2-run lead. El Paso took the lead in the top of the 7th inning with the help of 2 errors by second baseman Tyler Ladendorf. But the River Cats would put 11 runs on the board over the next 2 innings, highlighted by outfielder Jake Goebbert’s grand slam in the 8th. Ladendorf collected 3 hits and drove in a run, while catcher Ryan Ortiz, designated hitter Michael Taylor and outfielder Shane Peterson had a pair of hits apiece, and LHP Joe Savery picked up the win for the River Cats.

Farmhand Of The Game:

Pitcher Drew Granier

(6 IP / 3 H / 0 ER / 3 BB / 0 K)

 

Starter Drew Granier got things off to a good start for Midland on Friday, allowing just 3 hits over 6 shutout innings, but when he exited the game, it was a scoreless tie. RHP Murphy Smith then came on to toss a scoreless and hitless 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th inning. And the game remained tied until the top of the 11th, when third baseman Jefry Marte singled, outfielder Chad Oberacker walked, and shortstop Dusty Coleman doubled them both home. Smith ended up earning his 1st win and RHP Seth Frankoff got the final 3 outs for his 4th save. With his single in the 11th, Marte extended his hitting streak to 12 games, and second baseman Colin Walsh has now reached base in all 11 of his games since joining the RockHounds.

RHP Hunter Adkins allowed 2 runs over 3 2/3 innings in his first start for Stockton on Friday. RHP Jonathan Joseph followed up with 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief and gave the Ports the chance to catch up and tie the game. RHP Nolan Sanburn then struck out 4 over 2 scoreless innings to send the game to extra innings. After RHP Tucker Healy tossed a scoreless top of the 10th for Stockton, third baseman Ryon Healy then came up with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th and slugged his second home run in as many days to give the Ports the walk-off win on Friday.

RHP Ronald Herrera had his first shaky start for the Snappers, allowing 7 runs, 5 earned, on 9 hits over just 4 innings of work to take the loss on Friday. RHP Sam Bragg, who’s been the clear standout in the Beloit bullpen so far this season, then came on to strike out 5 in 3 scoreless innings of relief for the Snappers. Meanwhile, second baseman Sam Roberts had 3 hits and tossed a scoreless 8th inning in relief, while designated hitter Tyler Marincov singled, tripled and scored a run for the Snappers.
