Starter Sean Murphy had a solid outing for the RockHounds, allowing 2 runs and striking out 7 over 5 1/3 innings to earn his 8th win, while RHP Brett Hunter got the final 2 outs for his 2nd save. First baseman Max Muncy had a pair of doubles, while third baseman Jefry Marte collected 3 hits and drove in a run, outfielder Conner Crumbliss singled, doubled and scored twice, and second baseman Dusty Coleman doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

A’s LHP Brett Anderson had a rocky time in his latest rehab outing on Thursday, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits over 3 1/3 innings to take the loss, while RHP Josh Bowman gave up 3 runs in 5 2/3 innings of relief for Stockton. Second baseman Antonio Lamas, shortstop Addison Russell and outfielder Bobby Crocker had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. In other news, LHP Shaeffer Hall was placed on the disabled list and RHP Ryan Doolittle (Sean’s little brother), who’s returning from Tommy John surgery, has rejoined the Ports roster.

RHP Andres Avila turned in a strong start for the Snappers, tossing 6 scoreless innings to earn his 6th win on Thursday. Second baseman Sam Roberts collected 3 hits, including a double, while shortstop Daniel Robertson drove in 2 runs, and catcher Nick Rickles and outfielders John Wooten and Aaron Shipman had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers. Reports on Thursday night were that the A’s were on the verge of reacquiring catcher Kurt Suzuki from the Nationals and that Snappers RHP Dakota Bacus could be headed to Washington in return.
