Designated hitter Michael Choice had a pair of doubles and drove in both the tying and the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning for the River Cats, while outfielder Michael Taylor collected 3 hits and drove in 3 runs on Wednesday. Starter Travis Banwart had a rocky outing, allowing 4 runs over 5 2/3 innings, while RHP Evan Scribner gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief to pick up the win, and RHP Brian Gordon got the final 3 outs to notch his 19th save for Sacramento.

RHP Zach Neal had a shaky start for the RockHounds, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings to take the loss on Wednesday. Outfielder D’Arby Myers doubled in the Hounds’ only run of the game, while designated hitter Jefry Marte singled and doubled in the loss.

After heading into the 8th inning with a 6-run lead, the Ports ended up losing by a 5-run margin in extra innings. Outfielder Rashun Dixon homered, doubled and drove in 5 runs, while first baseman Tony Thompson and shortstop Addison Russell both homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Ports. RHP Raul Alcantara had a rocky outing on Wednesday, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, over 6 innings of work, while LHP Omar Duran surrendered 5 runs in just 1 inning of relief, and RHP T.J. Walz gave up 5 runs, just 1 earned, in the top of the 10th inning to take the loss. Third baseman B.A. Vollmuth committed 3 errors in the game to bring his season total to 30.

First baseman Matt Olson continued his hot hitting on Wednesday, slugging a solo shot in the 2nd inning and tagging a 2-run homer in the 10th to give him a total of 4 round-trippers in his last 3 games. Designated hitter Ryan Mathews and third baseman John Wooten both had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Snappers. Starter Dakota Bacus had a solid outing, allowing just 3 hits over 6 scoreless innings and left the game with the lead. But RHP Tyler Vail surrendered 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief, and RHP Austin House allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game but ended up picking up the win after getting the final 3 outs in the bottom of the 10th.

Starter Lee Sosa gave up just 1 run on 1 hit while walking 6 over 4 innings of work on Wednesday, while RHP Tyler Johnson allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief. The game was tied 2-2 till catcher Ryan Gorton came in to pitch and gave up the go-ahead run in the top of the 14th inning to take the loss for the Lake Monsters. Meanwhile, outfielder Tyler Marincov had a single and a pair of doubles, stole a base and scored a run in the loss.
