RHP Bruce Billings turned in his third straight impressive start for Sacramento, allowing just 1 run and striking out 8 over 7 2/3 innings to earn his 11th win, while RHP Brian Gordon got the final 3 outs for his 12th save on Sunday. Outfielder Shane Peterson, shortstop Andy Parrino and catcher Ryan Ortiz drove in a run apiece for the River Cats.

Starter Sean Murphy had a strong outing for Midland, allowing just 1 unearned run on 6 hits over 7 innings of work, but RHP Blake Hassebrock gave up the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 10th inning to take the loss on Sunday. Outfielder Josh Whitaker had a pair of doubles and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

RHP Raul Alcantara had a rough start for Stockton, allowing 8 runs, 4 earned, on 9 hits over 3 2/3 innings to take the loss on Sunday. Shortstop Addison Russell continued his second-half surge by slugging a 3-run homer, his 12th, while first baseman Tony Thompson and second baseman Wade Kirkland contributed solo shots for the Ports.

Second baseman Chris Bostick tripled, doubled and scored the Snappers’ only run of the game on Sunday. Starter Dylan Covey allowed just 1 run on 5 hits over 4 innings of work, but RHP Vince Voiro gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief to take the loss.

Starter Bobby Wahl looked solid on Sunday, allowing just 1 unearned run in 3 innings of work. RHP Junior Mendez tossed 2 scoreless innings in his debut with Vermont, but RHP Tyler Johnson took the loss after giving up 1 unearned run in 2 innings of relief. The A’s 3rd-round draft pick, third baseman Ryon Healy, collected 3 hits for the Lake Monsters.

After tossing a scoreless inning in his first appearance, 7th-round draft pick Dustin Driver had a rougher go of it his second time out, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 1 inning of work on Sunday. RHP Hunter Adkins allowed just 1 hit in 4 scoreless innings of relief, while first baseman Gabriel Santana had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the A’s.
