Starter Bruce Billings had another strong outing for Sacramento, allowing 2 runs on just 4 hits over 8 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Tuesday. Outfielder Michael Choice continued his hot hitting of late, collecting 2 hits, including a double, for the River Cats. Second baseman Grant Green was scratched just prior to the game, and it was later announced that the former 1st-round draft pick had been traded to the Angels for veteran infielder Alberto Callaspo.

Starter Sean Murphy had a rough outing for the RockHounds on Tuesday, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings to take his 5th loss, while RHP Blake Hassebrock surrendered another 4 runs in just 1 inning of relief. Catcher Ryan Lipkin homered, doubled and drove in 4 runs for the Hounds. RHP Carlos Fisher was placed on the disabled list, and RHP Ryan Dull will take his place on the RockHounds roster.

After missing a week and a half with a bruised hand, top prospect Addison Russell has come back with a bang. In his first game back on Sunday, he had 3 hits, and in his second game back on Tuesday, he hit 2 home runs, walked, scored 3 times and drove in 3 runs. After getting off to a slow start over the first couple months of the season, Russell’s batting average now stands at .271. RHP Raul Alcantara had a solid outing for Stockton, allowing 2 runs while striking out 8 over 7 innings to earn his 4th win for the Ports. With Ryan Dull’s promotion to Midland, LHP Trey Barham was activated and assigned to Stockton.

The A’s 4th-round draft pick, RHP Dylan Covey, allowed 3 runs on 8 hits over 5 1/3 innings, and RHP Kris Hall gave up a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to take the loss on Tuesday. First baseman Matt Olson homered, doubled and drove in 2 runs, while outfielders John Wooten and Aaron Shipman had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers.

The A’s top draft pick this year, outfielder Billy McKinney, hit his 1st professional home run on Tuesday, while outfielder Vicmal De La Cruz clubbed his 1st home run of the season, and first baseman Shawn Duinkerk had 2 hits and drove in the winning run for the A’s. Starter Hunter Adkins allowed 4 runs in just 1 2/3 innings of work, but RHP Travis Pitcher gave up just 1 unearned run in 2 innings of relief to pick up his 1st win.
