Starter Bruce Billings had a solid outing for Sacramento on Saturday, allowing 2 runs and striking out 6 over 5 innings of work, while LHP Pedro Figueroa gave up a run in the 6th inning to take the loss, and RHP Kyler Newby surrendered 2 more runs in the 7th. Outfielder Shane Peterson had a pair of hits and drove in both the River Cats’ runs on the night.

Starter Murphy Smith had a shaky outing for the RockHounds on Saturday, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits over 6 1/3 innings of work, while LHP Pedro Viola surrendered 3 runs in the 10th inning to take the loss. Outfielder D’Arby Myers did most of the damage for Midland, homering, doubling and driving in 4 runs for the RockHounds.

RHP James Simmons had a strong start for Stockton on Saturday, allowing 2 runs and striking out 7 over 6 innings to earn his 6th win, while RHP Tucker Healy struck out the side in the 9th to post his 2nd save. After Simmons gave up 2 runs in top of the 2nd inning, outfielder Rashun Dixon drilled a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 2nd to provide all the runs the Ports would need on the night.

Starter Vince Voiro allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks over 6 innings to take his 3rd loss on Saturday. Second baseman Chris Bostick and outfielder Aaron Shipman collected a pair of hits apiece, while first baseman Matt Olson doubled and drove in 2 of the Snappers’ 3 runs on the night.
