RHP Arnold Leon made an impressive debut as the newest member of Sacramento’s starting rotation, allowing just 1 run while walking none and striking out 9 over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up being saddled with the loss on Wednesday. First baseman Daric Barton doubled for the River Cats’ only hit of the game.

Starting in place of Arnold Leon, who was promoted to Sacramento, LHP Carlos Hernandea had a strong outing for the RockHounds on Wednesday, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, on 4 hits over 6 innings of work and left with the game tied. But LHP Frank Gailey gave up a pair of runs in the 8th inning to take the loss, and RHP Mike DeMark surrendered 6 runs in the 9th to help put the game out of reach for the RockHounds.

Stockton starter Raul Alcantara exited after just 1 1/3 innings with a left knee contusion after being hit in the leg with a line drive in the 2nd inning, and RHP T.J. Walz surrendered 4 runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief to take the loss on Wednesday. Outfielder Rashun Dixon homered, doubled and drove in 3 runs for the Ports in the loss.

Second baseman Chris Bostick continued his hot hitting for Beloit, collecting 3 hits, including his 11th home run and his 15th double, and drove in 4 runs for the Snappers. Starter Dakota Bacus had another solid outing, allowing 2 runs over 5 innings to earn his 8th win on Wednesday.

With the Lake Monsters down by a run in the 8th inning, t he A’s 3rd overall pick in this year’s draft, shortstop Chad Pinder, slugged his 2nd home run of the season to tie the game, and second baseman Wilfredo Solano then singled home outfielder Herschel Powell in the 9th to clinch the victory for Vermont. Starter Tyler Johnson allowed 1 run in 4 innings of work, and RHP Gregory Paulino tossed 4 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 1st win.

The A’s 7th overall pick in this year’s draft, RHP Bobby Wahl, allowed 1 run while walking 2 and striking out 1 in 1 inning of work in his debut for the A’s on Wednesday. RHP Cristhian Perez tossed 4 scoreless innings in relief, while the A’s 20th overall pick, RHP Sam Bragg, struck out 8 batters in 2 2/3 innings of work to earn his 1st win. The A’s top pick, outfielder Billy McKinney, went 2 for 4, stole his 2nd base and scored a run in the win.
