In Other News…

The A’s 1st-round draft pick, outfielder Billy McKinney, officially agreed to terms with the A’s on a reported $1.8 million contract on Friday. The 18-year-old made his first appearance at the Coliseum and had the chance to meet general manager Billy Beane, take batting practice in a group that included Yoenis Cespedes, and take a seat in the broadcast booth to answer a few questions. And after a whirlwind day in Oakland, he’ll be on a plane to Phoenix first thing in the morning to begin getting ready for the start of the Arizona League season next Thursday.
