Second baseman Grant Green homered for the second straight day. This one was a grand slam that came as part of a big 7-run 3rd inning that helped provide the River Cats with an insurmountable lead on Friday. Designated hitter Luke Montz added a 3-run homer in the 8th and drove in 5 runs on the night, while shortstop Jemile Weeks contributed 4 hits to the cause. Starter Andrew Werner allowed 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 to earn his 5th win for the River Cats.

It’s was a quiet night for the RockHounds’ bats as the team managed just 2 hits, one each from catcher Beau Taylor and first baseman Anthony Aliotti. Starter Carlos Hernandez allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 4 innings of work to take his 5th loss, but RHP Nate Long did his best to try and keep Midland in the game, striking out 5 over 3 scoreless innings of relief for the RockHounds.

First baseman Max Muncy continued his hot hitting, collecting 2 hits, including a 3-run homer in a 7-run 3rd inning for the Ports. Third baseman B.A. Vollmuth also clubbed a 3-run homer, while designated hitter Tony Thompson contributed 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs. RHP Drew Granier had his shakiest start yet for Stockton, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits over just 4 innings of work on Friday. RHP Blake Hassebrock gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief to pick up his 2nd win, while RHP Jonathan Joseph tossed 2 scoreless innings to earn his 4th save.

RHP Michael Ynoa picked up his 1st win on Friday. The former top pitching prospect had his lengthiest outing of the season, going a full 5 innings and allowing just 1 run on 6 hits while walking none and striking out 3. RHP Andres Avila gave up 1 run in 4 innings of relief to earn his 1st save, while designated hitter Nick Rickles tagged a 2-run homer in the top of the 2nd inning to give the Snappers an early lead, which they would never relinquish.
