Starter Arnold Leon had a solid outing for Midland on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run while walking none and striking out 5 over 6 innings to earn his 3rd win. RHP Brett Hunter struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings of relief and LHP Frank Gailey got the final 3 outs to pick up his 1st save. Catcher David Freitas had a pair of hits, including his 8th home run, for the RockHounds.

First baseman Max Muncy smacked 3 home runs and drove in 5 runs for the Ports on a night when Stockton and Lancaster combined to tie the California League record for home runs in a single game with 11. Designated hitter Tony Thompson, third baseman B.A. Vollmuth, outfielder Rashun Dixon and catcher Phil Pohl also homered for the Ports. Starter Tanner Peters had a shaky outing, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits over 5 2/3 innings, but he still ended up notching his 7th win on Wednesday.

RHP Austin House made his second straight strong start for the Snappers on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run and striking out 7 over 5 innings to earn his 1st win, while RHP Ryan Dull got the final 3 outs for his 10th save. Outfielder Ryan Mathews collected a pair of doubles, while shortstop Daniel Robertson hit his 4th home run for the Snappers.

Six members of the Beloit Snappers were selected for the Midwest League All-Star Game’s Western Division roster. The Midwest League All-Star game is scheduled for June 18th in Dayton, Ohio. Bruce Maxwell will be the starting catcher, while Renato Nunez will be the starter at third base, first baseman Matt Olson will serve as a reserve, and RHPs Michael Ynoa, Raul Alcantara and Ryan Dull will round out the pitching staff.
