Starter Andrew Werner had a solid outing for Sacramento, allowing just 2 runs over 9 innings to go the distance, but he still ended up taking the loss. The River Cats’ lineup managed only 6 hits on the night, 2 apiece from shortstop Hiro Nakajima and outfielder Michael Taylor. Meanwhile, former A’s third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff went 0 for 4 for New Orleans to lower his average to .167.

Catcher Beau Taylor, designated hitter David Freitas and outfielder Jake Goebbert all homered for Midland, but it wasn’t enough on Wednesday. In his debut for the RockHounds, RHP Erik Arnesen allowed 6 runs, 5 earned, including 3 home runs, over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss. And shortstop Dusty Coleman made a pair of errors, to raise his organization-leading total to 16. Meanwhile, former A’s pitcher Sean Gallagher allowed 2 runs in 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win for Tulsa.

Catcher Nick Rickles had a big game for Beloit, clubbing a pair of 2-run homers for the Snappers on Wednesday. And catcher Bruce Maxwell added his 2nd home run of the season, a solo shot. Starter Michael Ynoa allowed 1 run on 1 hit while walking 3 and striking out 4 over 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Tyler Vail picked up the win despite giving up 2 runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief, and RHP Ryan Dull got the final out for his 7th save.
