Sacramento finished off a 4-game sweep of Nashville on Tuesday thanks to another solid pitching performance, this time from LHP Justin Thomas who allowed just 3 hits over 6 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win. Outfielder Jeremy Barfield belted his 2nd home run since joining Sacramento and drove in 5 runs, while catcher Stephen Vogt drove in 2 and designated hitter Grant Green collected a pair of doubles for the River Cats.

Starter Arnold Leon had his strongest start yet since returning from the disabled list, allowing 2 runs on just 4 hits over 7 innings to earn his 2nd win. Outfielder Jake Goebbert hit his 5th home run and drove in 4 runs, while designated hitter Josh Whitaker homered to notch his first hit since joining Midland.

RHP Austin House was the hard-luck loser for Beloit in the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader. House didn’t allow a hit until the 6th inning. The game was tied 0-0 headed into the bottom of the 7th, when a walk and a double gave Clinton their only run, as well as the win, and handed the loss to House. Meanwhile, catcher Bruce Maxwell’s had Beloit’s only hit of the game.

With outfielder Rashun Dixon being promoted to Stockton, LHP Brent Powers was activated to his make his season debut in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader for Beloit. And Powers allowed 3 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5 over 5 innings to earn the win. Outfielder Ryan Mathews had a double and drove in 3 runs, including the go-ahead run for the Snappers. Second baseman Chris Bostick collected 2 doubles and drove in a pair of runs, while outfielder John Wooten contributed 3 hits to the cause.
