Worth Noting: Starter Dan Straily turned in another impressive performance for the River Cats, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 9 over 6 scoreless innings to earn his 6th win on Sunday. Outfielder Shane Peterson hit a 2-run homer in the 7th inning to break a scorless tie. Outfielder Jermaine Mitchell and designated hitter Kila Ka’aihue also homered in the win.

Worth Noting: Starter Shawn Haviland had a shaky outing, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, in the first 2 innings before settling down to throw 4 2/3 scoreless innings and giving the RockHounds the chance to come back and take the lead. But left-hander Ian Krol allowed 2 runs in relief to take the loss. Outfielder Jeremy Barfield and shortstop Dusty Coleman both hit 2-run homers for the RockHounds.

Worth Noting: With the Ports down by 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning, infielder Michael Gilmartin hit a 2-run homer which, later in the inning, was followed by another 2-run blast off the bat of outfielder Myrio Richard to put the Ports on top. Starter Max Perlman had a rough outing, allowing 6 runs, 5 earned, in just 4 innings of work, while left-hander Jeff Urlaub picked up the win with 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.

Worth Noting: Starter Drew Granier had an interesting outing on Sunday, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits while walking none and striking out 12 over 6 innings to take the loss. Shortstop Addison Russell had a pair of hits and drove in the Bees’ only 2 runs of the game.

Worth Noting: Starter Andres Avila had a solid outing on Sunday, allowing just 1 unearned run while striking out 6 over 5 innings to earn his 3rd win. Outfielder Brett Vertigan and designated hitter Miguel Marte both blasted 2-run homers for Vermont. And after notching 8 home runs in 46 games for the Arizona League A’s, the A’s 3rd overall draft pick this year, 18-year-old first baseman Matt Olson, homered in his first game with Vermont.
