Worth Noting: In his first start since returning to Sacramento from Midland, left-hander Carlos Hernandez tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the win. Outfielder Seth Smith and infielder Eric Sogard, both returning from injuries, contributed 2 hits apiece for the River Cats.

Worth Noting: Third baseman Miles Head has been starting to heat up at Midland, and on Monday night, he collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs. Outfielder Conner Crumbliss and catcher David Freitas contributed 3 hits apiece for the RockHounds. Starter Matt McSwain allowed 2 runs in just 3 innings of work, while right-hander Jonathan Ortiz gave up 3 runs in the 9th inning to take the loss.

Worth Noting: Starter Josh Bowman turned in a strong outing for Stockton, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits while walking none and striking out 6 over 8 innings to earn his 5th win. Catcher Ryan Ortiz doubled in 2 runs, while outfielder Dusty Robinson hit his 15th home run for the Ports.

Worth Noting: Starter Tanner Peters had another solid outing for Burlington, allowing just 1 unearned run, while walking none and striking out 5 over 6 2/3 innings on Monday, but right-hander Raul Alcantara allowed 2 runs in the 8th inning to take the loss. First baseman Max Muncy had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and drove in a run for the Bees. Infielder Sean Jamieson was pulled midway through the game for a pinch-hitter, and it was later announced that he had been traded to the Diamonbacks for major league shortstop Stephen Drew, leaving this year’s top draft pick for the A’s, Addison Russell, as the only real shortstop on the roster for the Bees.

Worth Noting: Starter Nolan Sanburn gave up 4 runs, 2 earned, on 6 hits in just 1 2/3 innings to take the loss, while right-hander Tyler Vail allowed just 1 unearned run and struck out 8 over 4 1/3 innings in relief. Outfielders Brett Vertigan and John Wooten both collected 2 hits and drove in a run for Vermont.

Worth Noting: First baseman Matt Olson homered for the 2nd straight night, while outfielders B.J. Boyd and Ryan Mathews both tripled and drove in a run. Right-hander Dakota Bacus picked up the win with 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief.
