Worth Noting: Brandon McCarthy had a rocky outing in his first rehab start with Sacramento, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits over 3 2/3 innings to take the loss. Catcher Anthony Recker collected 3 hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in 2 runs. First baseman Kila Ka’aihue and outfielders Michael Taylor and Shane Peterson also homered in the loss.

Worth Noting: Starter Fabio Castro allowed 3 runs on 7 hits over 4 2/3 innings to take his 3rd loss, while outfielder Jeremy Barfield clubbed his 9th home run in the 4th inning for the RockHounds.

Worth Noting: Starter Tanner Peters had one of his best outings for Burlington, tossing 6 scoreless innings to earn his 1st win for the Bees. Outfielder Rashun Dixon and designated hitter Douglas Landaeta both drove in a run and outfielder Bobby Crocker had 2 hits, stole 2 bases, and scored twice in the win.

Worth Noting: Second baseman Chris Bostick doubled, tripled and drove in 2 runs, while catcher Bruce Maxwell, serving as the designated hitter for the day, had 2 doubles and drove in a run. This year’s 8th-round draft pick Kris Hall allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits over 2 2/3 innings of work, while 6th-round draft pick Seth Streich struck out 3 over 2 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Worth Noting: In his first game back in Arizona after being demoted from Vermont, outfielder Dayton Alexander blasted a 3-run homer to account for all his team’s runs on the night. Starter Kayvon Bahramzadeh allowed 1 run in 4 innings of work, but right-hander Derek Hansen took the loss after giving up the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 6th inning.
