Worth Noting: Starter Brad Peacock had an interesting outing. On the good side, the right-hander struck out 11 batters over 7 innings of work, but he also gave up 2 home runs and left the game with a 4-0 deficit that Sacramento couldn’t overcome. The River Cats managed only 3 hits in the game, with outfielder Michael Taylor doubling for the team’s only extra base hit on the night.

Worth Noting: Outfielder Jeremy Barfield doubled to lead off the 12th inning and came around to score the winning run on catcher Beau Taylor’s single. Starter Fabio Castro had a solid outing, striking out 6 over 7 scoreless innings, while left-hander Beau Jones picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Worth Noting: Starter Blake Hassebrock had another rocky outing, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, on 8 hits over 5 2/3 innings to take his 4th loss. Right-hander T.J. Walz contributed 2 1/3 solid innings of scoreless relief, while outfielder Mitch LeVier doubled in a run in the loss.

Worth Noting: Starter Chris Lamb had a rough outing, allowing 8 runs on 13 hits over 5 2/3 innings of work, but right-hander Raul Alcantara gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief to take the loss. Outfielder Eliezer Mesa tripled and drove in 2 runs, third baseman Wade Kirkland doubled and drove in 2, and outfielder Bobby Crocker and infielder Michael Fabiaschi contributed 3 hits apiece in the loss.

Worth Noting: This year’s 8th-round draft pick Kris Hall had a solid outing in his 1st start for Vermont, giving up just 1 hit over 3 scoreless innings, but right-hander Deyvi Jimenez came on to surrender 6 runs in just 2 innings and take the loss. Shortstop Wilfredo Solano doubled for the team’s only extra base hit of the game.

Worth Noting: This year’s 1st-round draft pick Addison Russell had another big game on Friday, blasting 2 home runs and driving in 3. Michael Soto homered, tripled and drove in 4, Reynaldo Mateo homered and drove in 3, and outfielder Luis Baez homered, doubled and drove in 2. Starter Vincent Voiro allowed 1 run in 3 innings of work, while left-hander Taylor Massey tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win.
