Worth Noting: Outfielder Brandon Moss, serving as the designated hitter for the day, slugged a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 4th inning to give the River Cats the lead, which they never relinquished. Outfielder Grant Green contributed a solo shot in the 5th, and Manny Ramirez sat out his second straight game with a tight hamstring. Starter Bruce Billings left the game in the 1st inning before even registering an out with an apparent leg injury, left-hander Fabio Castro allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 4 innings to earn the win, and reliever Pedro Figueroa tossed 2 scoreless innings to run his scoreless innings streak with Sacramento this season to 14.

Worth Noting: Starter Murphy Smith allowed just 1 run and struck out 4 over 5 innings to earn his 4th win. Outfielder Michael Choice doubled and drove in 3 runs, and infielder Leonardo Gil drove in 2 in the RockHounds’ win.

Worth Noting: Starter Josh Bowman allowed just 2 runs and struck out 3 over 7 innings, but right-hander Connor Hoehn gave up a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to take the loss. Catcher Beau Taylor collected 2 of the Ports’ 6 hits on the night.

Worth Noting: Outfielder Bobby Crocker drove in 3 runs, third baseman B.A. Vollmuth drove in 2, and outfielder Eliezer Mesa drove in 1, but it wasn’t enough for Burlingtonon Friday. Starter Brent Powers allowed 6 runs, 5 earned, to raise his ERA to 6.69 and take his 4th loss.
